What is CNG
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a highly compressed form of the traditional natural gas used to heat homes and generate power. Traditionally used as a vehicular fuel, powering automobiles, light trucks, big-rigs and trains, CNG has been widely adopted by many industries as a way of reducing their fuel costs and their impact on the environment. Recently, in response to growing needs for access to clean affordable energy and heating solutions, CNG is being increasingly used in large scale industrial fields both as a fuel for generating power as well as producing and retaining heat.
CNG is a very safe and efficient fuel. CNG has all the attributes of standard pipeline natural gas, being lighter than air, non-toxic and odorized. Additionally it cannot contaminate soil or groundwater and dissipates quickly. It burns cleanly, which is not only good for the environment but also for the infrastructure. Natural gas powered boilers and generators require significantly less upkeep and maintenance than oil and propane generators.
